An important milestone has been achieved on 12th September 2025. The three associations representing co-programmed partnerships active in road transport (CCAM Association, EGVIAfor2Zero and BEPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Commission.

Signed in conjunction with the third Strategic Dialogue on the Future of the European Automotive Industry in Brussels, this MoU aims to position Europe as a leader in sustainable and smart mobility by 2035 and beyond. It will provide a significant contribution to the research and innovation dimension of the Automotive Action Plan by fostering more efficient and targeted EU R&I investments to strengthen the competitiveness of the automotive industry.

Through this agreement, we commit to jointly deliver:

By December 2025:

  • A forward-looking joint R&I dimension of the EU vision for the technological competitiveness of the automotive sector
  • An overview of the international R&I context in the automotive sector, with particular focus on the areas essential for EU competitiveness

By June 2026:

  • A Joint SRIA implementing the R&I aspects of the vision
  • An overview of existing R&I programmes and initiatives at EU, national, and regional levels that can contribute to the SRIA objectives

The MoU text is now available for download.
