CCAM IKAA Summary Report 2024: Advancing Automated Mobility Together

IKAA Report 2024

The CCAM Partnership has published its latest IKAA (In-Kind Additional Activities) Summary Report 2024, highlighting how members of the CCAM Association are advancing automated mobility through strategic in-kind contributions. With €107.5 million reported (more than twice the EU funding for the same year), the report underlines the strong commitment across the partnership.

Key Highlights:

  • Testing CCAM in the real world with automated shuttles, buses, and logistics pilots while exploring user acceptance, operational viability, and engagement from public sector.
  • Advanced validation and digital twins with, on one hand, scenario databases and virtual testbeds helping to improve safety, reliability, and readiness for certification, and on the other hand, e.a. predictive software development.
  • Breakthroughs in perception systems and AI, thanks to technologies like neuromorphic chips, edge AI, and 4D radars, enabled faster, smarter real-time decision-making.
  • Infrastructure and system integration for CCAM deployment and its scaling across
  • Policy and standardisation: Members offered inputs on safety, governance, and validation frameworks at national, EU, and global levels.
  • Upskilling and talent development with MOOCs, workshops, and courses to build the skills needed for the future CCAM
  • Strategic collaboration to ensure CCAM innovation happens within a cohesive
  • Success stories with NimbleAI’s vision chip, RWTH Aachen’s award-winning ACDC course, the cross-border C- ROADS initiative rollout, and Finland–Sweden’s real-time traffic data exchange and cooperation.

The 2024 IKAA contributions demonstrate how CCAM members are not only innovating but also delivering real-world change for safer, smarter, and more inclusive mobility in Europe.
