CCAM States Representatives Group meeting on 16 February
The second meeting of the CCAM States Representatives Group (SRG) meeting was held on 16 February 2022 online in connection with the High Level Meeting on Connected and Automated Driving (HLM CAD), organised by the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union from 16-17 February.
21 EU Member States and Countries Associated to Horizon Europe were represented at the CCAM SRG meeting: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and the UK.
At the meeting, Philippe Froissard from the European Commission, and Serge van Dam from the CCAM Association updated the CCAM SRG on the recent activities of the CCAM Partnership such as:
- The finalisation and publication of the Strategic Innovation and Research Agenda (SRIA),
- The Work Programme 2022 with the call for projects closed on 12 January,
- The different internal meetings the CCAM Association held with an update on the number of its members,
- The participation of CCAM in the co-organisation of the 5th edition of the H2020RTR21 European Conference. All the participants were strongly encouraged to participate.
Afterwards, Xavier Delache informed the participants about the outcomes of the first HLM CAD session.
Finally, there was an open discussion on the thematic areas of R&I, where closer cooperation between Member States could be useful, during which most of the debate focused on policy and regulatory needs, and European harmonization. Moreover, the CCAM SRG exchanged on what the next meeting topics should be and agreed on the terms of reference for the group.
The next meeting will be hosted in autumn by the Czech Republic during the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union to further coordinate the R&I activities in connected and automated mobility across Europe.
