CCAMBASSADOR Launches New EU-CEM Learning Path to Support High-Quality CCAM Evaluations

Evaluating Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility solutions is essential to understanding their impacts and ensuring that innovation delivers tangible benefits for society. To support project partners, researchers, public authorities, and other stakeholders involved in CCAM initiatives, the CCAMBASSADOR project has launched a new EU-CEM Learning Path within the Connected Automated Driving Knowledge Base.

The learning path has been designed to provide users with an accessible introduction to the European Common Evaluation Methodology (EU-CEM) and help them apply a harmonised approach to CCAM evaluation activities. By offering practical guidance and supporting materials, the initiative contributes to improving the consistency, quality, and comparability of evaluation results across Europe.

The training package includes four short introductory videos presenting the EU-CEM Handbook and its main chapters. In addition, users can access slide decks highlighting common pitfalls in evaluation planning and explaining how cascading impacts can be identified and assessed. Practical checklists guide users through key evaluation planning steps and support compliance with EU-CEM recommendations, while dedicated tables describe the 18 impact areas covered by the methodology and help stakeholders identify relevant result indicators.

The learning materials aim to support users in developing a comprehensive understanding of the EU-CEM Handbook and its application in real-world CCAM projects. Participants can learn how to apply best practices in evaluation design, prioritise impact areas, use harmonised terminology, align evaluation activities with strategic objectives, anticipate societal impacts and trade-offs, foster early stakeholder collaboration, and ensure methodological consistency.

By making these resources publicly available, CCAMBASSADOR continues to strengthen the European CCAM ecosystem and support evidence-based decision-making for future mobility solutions. The initiative helps project teams and evaluators generate robust and comparable results, contributing to the successful deployment and assessment of CCAM technologies across Europe.
