New IKAA Summary Report 2023 is out! CCAM members drive innovations in automated mobility

The 2023 In-Kind Contributions to Additional Activities (IKAA) Summary Report is now available, showcasing the impactful work of CCAM Association members in advancing connected, cooperative, and automated mobility across Europe.

Key highlights include:

  • In-vehicle technology: Major advancements were made in sensor fusion, quantum computing for vehicle planning, and high-performance central car servers, pushing the boundaries of automated vehicle capabilities.
  • Data management: Members tackled data governance and synchronisation, utilising vehicles as sensors and employing AI for high-accuracy road monitoring, leading to smarter transport systems.
  • Safety enhancements: Progress in ADAS, CAV functions, and EuroNCAP protocols has strengthened vehicle safety, with a focus on protecting vulnerable road users.
  • Communication and traffic management: Efforts included overcoming 5G connectivity challenges and developing a mobility digital twin, with notable success in the Fluidmesh urban connectivity project.
  • Future operations and logistics: The MULTI-MOBY project led the way in developing automated, multi-passenger electric vehicles, while members established test facilities and explored urban mobility options.
  • Showcasing and regulatory influence: Members demonstrated new technologies and influenced European testing frameworks, aligning standards with technological advancements.

With over 257 million euros in in-kind contributions—exceeding the initial plan threefold—this report underscores the dedication of CCAM Association members to advancing safer, more efficient, and inclusive mobility across Europe and beyond.
