Join the CCAM Association—a European association cooperating with the European Commission in the CCAM Partnership under the current Horizon Europe (2021-2027)—at the forefront of research and innovation in road transport and advanced mobility solutions powered by Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) technologies.
We foster collaboration between research communities and industry players to drive innovation in mobility. We are currently looking for a proactive, organised, and enthusiastic Head of Office to manage the smooth daily operations of our Brussels office, located at Avenue de Cortenbergh 66, 1000 Brussels.
Your role:
As our Head of Office, you will be responsible for daily management of the Association, communication activities, and stakeholders management. Your key responsibilities will include:
Daily management of the Association:
- administration, budget preparation and control,
- organisation of the secretariat, including leading a small team, recruitment,
- issuing yearly membership invoices,
- expense tracking,
- organisation of internal meetings, workshops, General Assemblies,
- preparation of documents and minutes,
- ensuring contractual obligations (like reporting to the European Commission) are fulfilled,
- contacts with the social secretariat, accountant, bank, legal services, and other official Belgian institutions.
Communications activities:
- work with an external communications consultant,
- organisation of public workshops and conferences, including co-organisation of the yearly RTR Conference,
- development and follow-up of CCAM.eu website and social media,
- drafting slides and documents,
- publication of brochures, reports, creation of videos and animations,
- representation of the Association in external meetings and events,
- participating in external fairs and ensuring the visibility of the association,
- follow-up of related European projects.
Stakeholder management:
- support for the elected Administration Board, Executive Group and Partnership Delegation,
- contacts with more than 230 members and other stakeholders (for instance Member States & Horizon Europe Associated Countries, other HE Partnerships),
- contacts with the services of the European Commission in charge of the CCAM Partnership and Horizon Europe Work Programme,
- coordination with sister associations.
Strategic thinking:
- leading ideation for the future – inputs to the upcoming new Automotive Partnership for the next Framework Programme 2028-2035 as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 12 September 2025.
You’ll also have the opportunity to take on additional tasks based on your skills and interests.
Your profile:
The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on manager who combines operational excellence with strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities. They should be comfortable running the daily operations of a European association, liaising with EU institutions, and managing both people and projects in a multicultural, policy-driven environment.
Education & experience:
- Master’s degree in European Affairs, Political Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or similar field.
- 8-12 years of relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years in a management or leadership role – office organisation in a European or international association / project or programme management (especially Horizon Europe, R&I partnerships) / Public Affairs or EU Policy Expert / Operations, Events or Communications Director in a European NGO or network.
Skills:
- Leadership & management
- Proven experience in managing small teams (2–5 people) and overseeing administrative operations
- Strong organisational and coordination abilities
- Budget management and financial oversight (including reporting and invoicing)
- Experience in HR functions (recruitment, contracts, team development)
- EU affairs & project management
- Deep understanding of EU institutions, Horizon Europe, and public-private partnerships (PPP / co-programmed partnerships)
- Familiarity with European Commission procedures, particularly DG RTD, DG MOVE, DG GROW, DG CNECT, JRC or CINEA
- Experience with EU project administration, reporting, and grant management is an asset
- Stakeholder management
- Strong relationship-building skills across public and private sectors
- Experience working with Boards, members, and European Commission officials
- Ability to maintain and grow a large membership base (200+)
- Skilled in diplomacy, negotiation, and consensus-building
- Communication & representation
- Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English required; French is a strong asset)
- Experience in event organisation (workshops, conferences, General Assemblies)
- Oversight of digital communication (website, social media, publications)
- Public speaking and representation experience at EU events and conferences
- Ability to craft clear messaging and strategic communication materials
- Strategic thinking & policy awareness
- Capacity for forward thinking and policy foresight (especially in mobility/CCAM/automotive R&I)
- Ability to contribute to strategic positioning for future partnerships (e.g., FP10)
- Analytical mindset with experience in drafting input papers, position papers, or strategic roadmaps

- Understanding of KPIs and performance reporting for associations
What we offer:
- Full-time (38 hours/week) permanent position
- Office located in Brussels, home office possible under conditions to be discussed
- Salary range (gross salary) – € 60 000 – € 70 000 yearly, depending on experience
- Benefits in kind, such as meal vouchers
- Work travel up to 20% of the time
