TRA Call to host the 2030 edition

The Transport Research Arena (TRA) has officially launched its call for candidates to host the 2030 edition.
TRA is held every two years and brings together researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and public authorities from across Europe and beyond. It showcases cutting-edge developments in sustainable and smart mobility across all modes of transport, including urban and long-distance, passenger and freight.
Following recent editions in Lisbon (2022), Dublin (2024), and upcoming events in Budapest (2026) and Milan (2028), the 2030 edition marks a major opportunity for a European country to take the lead in shaping the future of mobility.
The following European organisations issue this call and will do the assessment and selection of the winning candidate: ACARE, ALICE, CEDR, ECTP, ERRAC, ERTRAC, ETRA and WATERBORNE. The organisations will identify the best application based on the requirements listed as “selection criteria”. Candidates are therefore invited to provide information on each of these criteria.
Key dates:
- Call open: 30 April 2025
- Deadline for applications: 31 January 2026
- Host selected: March 2026, for public announcement at TRA2026 Budapest (18-21 May 2026)
