autotech.agil Final Event 11/09

The autotech.agil German project – a collaborative research consortium led by RWTH Aachen University – has reached its culmination with the successful development of a modular, open architecture for future mobility systems.
You can now register to attend the project’s final event on 11 September in Aldenhoven, Germany.
Launched in October 2022, the project orchestrated the efforts of 17 academic research groups from nine universities alongside an array of industry partners, including automotive giants such as Mercedes Benz, Bosch, Valeo, and ZF, as well as various SMEs and city stakeholders.
Building on its predecessor UNICARagil, autotech.agil has expanded its scope beyond autonomous vehicle architecture to encompass the broader transportation ecosystem, advancing infrastructure-based sensor systems, cooperative cloud-and control center strategies, and tools for software development.
Demonstrating societal relevance, the project employed three flagship applications:
- Enabling mobility for individuals with age- or illness-related performance limitations.
- Facilitating the sustainable transport of critical goods, particularly medical supplies.
- Implementing a “guardian angel” safety function to protect vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
Having reached its planned end in September 2025, autotech.agil marks a key milestone toward a more agile, updatable, and interoperable future for vehicle software and electronics.
