CCAM Association first in a series of workshops with POLIS towards the CCAM Urban Deployment Roadmap

On 8 October in Brussels, the CCAM Association held the first in a series of workshops with POLIS towards the CCAM Urban Deployment Roadmap.
According to the keynote speaker, Matthieu Graindorge from the City of Helmond in the Netherlands, CCAM deployment in cities can bring both positive but also negative impact. Cities have a role to play to maximise the positive impacts. CCAM should not be a nice gadget, it should address the real city needs.
Exactly for that reason, we gathered in one place both public authorities and CCAM researchers to explore how research can match city needs.
CCAM projects: metaCCAZE, ULTIMO, CONDUCTOR, PoDIUM, FRODDO had a first-hand opportunity to provide inputs to cities and regions. This small confrontation helped broaden the technical approach of many research initiatives into the higher-level visions of cities.
In the breakouts, the participants:
• Defined different types of city deployment profiles
• Identified relevant CCAM use cases for each profile
• Explored feasibility and relevance of these use cases
• Highlighted key enablers and barriers in their deployment pathway
This workshop is part of the co-creation of the CCAM Urban Deployment Roadmap, a joint initiative of POLIS and the CCAM Partnership, developed within the framework of the CCAMbassador project.
