CINEA Brochure: Towards Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility
CINEA launched the brochure “Towards Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility” at the 4th edition of #EUCAD2023 to present a comprehensive overview of the CCAM projects portfolio, funded under the first two calls (2021 and 2022) of the EU’s Horizon Europe programme for research and innovation. The funded projects cover a range of domains, from data ecosystems to infrastructure support, validation methodologies to environmental aspects, and more.
Our transport systems are undergoing radical change due to new mobility trends and technologies. This transformation will have a profound impact on the environment, transport users, and businesses. Automated transport plays a crucial role in this shift, with the potential to greatly reduce road fatalities, improve accessibility to mobility services, and minimize harmful emissions by optimizing traffic efficiency.
The European Union and the private sector are investing significant financial resources to establish an intelligent transport network that integrates information and communication technologies with transport infrastructure, vehicles, and users. While this presents tremendous opportunities, it also poses challenges, particularly in ensuring the safe and connected automation of transport.
CINEA, with the support of the CCAM Partnership, is actively involved in implementing an increasing number of EU projects that develop, test, and leverage innovative solutions funded under the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program. The EU has committed approximately €500 million to support the development and adoption of highly automated and connected driving systems through this program.
The journey ahead of us is exciting. The projects are carrying out groundbreaking work for the future of transportation. Download the brochure today to discover the advancements shaping the European cooperative, connected, and automated mobility of tomorrow.
